Simon Cooper

Simon has 35 years’ legal experience focusing on insurance and reinsurance matters. During that period he has advised on all of the major market issues. Simon is a member of the IBA’s insurance Committee and a former member of the IUA Clauses Subcommittee. He edited the second edition of ‘Reinsurance Practice & the Law’ and writes and lectures frequently on insurance and reinsurance law.

Mehmet Achik-El

Mehmet is a Senior Associate in Ince’s Corporate and Insurance groups, advising clients on a wide range of transactional and insurance related matters. His experience includes advising on mergers and acquisitions, cross-border restructurings, commercial and joint venture agreements, regulatory matters, captive structures and drafting (re)insurance wordings. He has also completed a client secondment in the legal department of a leading Lloyd’s managing agent, where he assisted with general corporate, regulatory and commercial insurance work. Mehmet is the Treasurer of the Under 35s Reinsurance Group.
