About Our Speakers
David Priebe Bio
As Chairman of Guy Carpenter & Company, LLC, David Priebe focuses on advancing Guy Carpenter’s engagement with clients and markets to identify opportunities and deliver solutions that help them drive profitable growth.
David, who has held various leadership roles at Guy Carpenter since 1981, was most recently Vice Chairman. He is a member of Guy Carpenter’s Executive Committee and works with regional leaders to support relationships with our clients. He also oversees Guy Carpenter’s Global Capital Solutions Group.
In earlier roles, David was responsible for the firm’s global specialty practices and analytics operations, and was responsible for business units including Structured Risk, Global Marketing, Business Development, Market Relationship Management, Market Insights and R&D.
From 2004 to 2007, he oversaw the firm’s UK and Continental Europe Operations. Under his leadership, Guy Carpenter initiated its Global Property Specialty Practice and ultimately twenty-two specific line of business centre of excellence groups.
Ian Thompson Bio
A graduate of The University of Manchester, Ian joined HSBC as a Professional Lines Broker in 1994. He moved to Catlin Group (London) and was made Head of Healthcare & Professional Lines in 2000. Here he oversaw the growth of the portfolio and the creation of Catlin’s US Platform in Houston. In 2009 Ian joined Hiscox (Bermuda) to establish the new Healthcare Team and in 2011 was made a Partner and Head of Casualty & Specialty. Ian and the team joined Ascot Bermuda in 2017, initially as Head of Casualty & Specialty, and then CUO Casualty & Specialty and was promoted to Chief Executive Officer in 2021. He is married with 4 children and lives in Paget, Bermuda.
Dominic Christian Bio
Dominic Christian is Global Chairman of Aon’s Reinsurance Solutions business. He is a member of the Global Executive of Aon. He is Deputy Chairman of Lloyd’s.
Dominic is a Director of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, a Trustee of the StandUpFoundation, a Director of The Bermuda Society, Chairman of the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts (SCVA) and Former Chairman of the Lloyd's Tercentenary Research Foundation.
For 2015/16 he was President of the Insurance Institute of London. In 2017 he was elected to the Court of Common Council of The City of London.
He leads the Inclusion@Lloyd's Group – a contemporary approach to Diversity and Inclusion being in his view central to future business success. He was recently appointed Chair of ClimateWise. He sits on the board of RaCe Commission and is part of the Government Advisory Board that recently published the Dasgupta Review the economics of biodiversity.
Dominic holds an Honours Degree in History from the University of East Anglia and an Honorary Doctorate in Civil Law.
His children describe his interests as Family, talking, football, tennis, history, architecture, East Anglia, new countries, trees, lakes, cats and overworking. Not all are approved of.
